Open Question: I am using the Dell Deminsion 3000 and mcAfee internet security Suite. how do i prevent the large icons when v

Every year, when we go on DST, it resets all me scheduled recordings. I had one scheduled to start at 3:35 a.m. It started recording at 5:35. When I went in to the series settings to correct it, the start time it showed wat 4:45.

I checked on Sunday and Monday, and maybe on Tuesday, and everything was fine, so I thought I'd escaped that demon this year (we bought a new computer, so I thought they had corrected that glitch). But no; it just waited until I wasn't vigilant any more.

I get my kids' classes (we homeschool) via satellite; the recordings messed up are weeks of classes (they're broadcast a week at a time).

I called HP a couple of years ago; they were no help. I called Dell about a previous MC problem, but they don't provide support for MC.

So what's wrong, whom do I contact, and how the heck to I get that stupid program to assume I'm smart enough to know when I want it to record?

Open Question: Is there any way of bypassing administrator without them knowing?

I go to a school and my microsoft word id broke and I have to reinstall it, but if I give it to the administrator there is a chance he will delete all my files, photos and music. We bught this computer for more than what they would cost from Dell!

I have a Dell Inspiron. Last night my cat stepped on the keyboard, somewhere in the upper right quadrant, where all the function keys are. Now the picture on the screen is sideways. I've tried restarting without any luck. What else should I try?

i have a Hp pavillion 500 that was given to me by a friend i tried lots of things to fix it ( cant take to a professional becuz dont have the money ) i even put fedora on it and it seemed to work for a litle bit but quit on me i have since then gone back to my old computer which is pretty outdated its a dell optiplex my question is . Can i take anything from my broken hp (memory or processor or anything like that) and install it in my dell I hate to just throw it away
